Back in November, Asus revealed their latest collaborative project, teaming up with famed game developers and publisher Blizzard Entertainment to launch the ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition. The Taiwanese giant has now confirmed that their latest gaming smartphone will now be coming to Malaysia.
The ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition will come in just one option with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and you’ll be able to get it from Asus authorised retailers for RM4,999. However, do note that Asus says it’ll only be available in limited quantities, so you Diablo fans out there might want to be quick to snag one. The ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition will also come with a complimentary one year extended warranty too, with the first 50 purchases also coming with free gifts worth RM100.
Perhaps in celebration of Blizzard’s latest title in the long running Diablo video game series, Asus have completely filled the ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition box with a bunch of Diablo themed accessories. For starters, the phone itself will be in a special ‘Hellfire Red’ colourway, with a flame-effect finish to it that varies the luminance of the flames when you move the phone around. It also has Diablo-themed UI pre-installed, such as a live wallpaper, special icons, animations and sound effects.
There’s accessories too such as a custom case inspired by the Horadic Cube, while the box it comes in is also modeled after Diablo’s Worldstone. You’ll also get a map of the Sanctuary, complete with hidden markings in invisible ink that you can reveal with the included Fahir’s Light. The phone comes with a Shield Blessing Aero case that can be illuminated too, while even the SIM removal tool comes in the Diablo logo.
Other than that though, the hardware itself is mostly the same as the ROG Phone 6, with a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display pushing a 165Hz refresh rate, a 1ms refresh rate, a Delta E below 1 along with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for scratch resistance. On the back meanwhile, the usual light up ROG logo now has the Diablo Immortal logo next to it too. You’ll also of course find the two AirTrigger 6 touch sensors on the side of the device.
Under the hood meanwhile is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GBB of UFS 3.1 storage. Keeping it all cool is a Gamecool 6 thermal heat dissipation system and it also comes with Android 12 out of the box, together with gaming-focused software such as Asus Armory Crate and Game Genie. As for the cameras, you get a triple camera setup on the rear packing a 50MP main camera using the SONY IMX766 sensor flanked by a 13MP ultrawide angle lens as well as a 5MP macro camera, along with a 12MP selfie camera up front.
Elsewhere, there’s a huge 6,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging, two USB-C ports, front-facing stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio jack and an in-display fingerprint sensor, as well as support for NFC, 5G, WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. If you’re keen on the ROG Phone 6 but perhaps are a bit more of a comic book nerd than a Diablo fan, you might also be interested in the ROG Phone 6 Batman Edition instead.
