Apple tvOS 16.2: Here’s what you can do by updating your Apple TV 4K

If you own an Apple TV 4K, you’re now able to update your tvOS to its 16.2 update. But what are its top features, and will these features help heighten your experience even further, as a user?

“This fall, new features coming to the Apple TV experience with tvOS 16 include updates to Siri that will make it even easier for customers to use their voice to control Apple TV and interact with the results,” said Apple in an earlier press release.

Siri voice recognition feature

tvOS 16.2 comes with its Siri voice recognition feature. You’ve always been able to use Siri on Apple TV, but now it will be able to recognize each user’s individual voice. With that, each user can easily access their own movies, shows, music, games, and apps, and pick up where they left off.

Using Siri Remote to ask “What should I watch?” will give you more tailored recommendations. Siri will also have a more compact design which allows users to quickly view results without missing much onscreen.

Apple Music Sing

A fun addition to the update, Apple Music now lets users karaoke to some of your favourite songs with Apple Music Sing. The feature includes adjustable vocals, which means that users can sing with the original artist’s vocals or push the artist’s vocals to the background.

Additionally, the feature includes background vocals as well as duet view—which lets multiple vocalists show on opposite sides of the screen to make duets or make multi-singer tracks easier to sing along to.

Another feature is that tvOS 16.2 supports the new Home app architecture. According to Apple, it makes the experience of controlling smart home accessories more reliable and efficient.

Apple has also introduced its new Apple TV 4K—and this time it’s much cheaper than its predecessor. Previously, the most expensive one with 64GB of storage was priced at RM949. The new Apple TV 4K is priced at RM799, including 128GB of storage.
