Yes 5G says they’re bringing NVIDIA GeForce Now cloud gaming to Malaysia

Last year, Yes 5G made headlines for being the first telco in Malaysia to offer consumers 5G service. Now, the telco has announced that they’re working together with NVIDIA to bring the GeForce Now cloud gaming service to Malaysia.

In case you didn’t know, NVIDIA GeForce Now is essentially a streaming service where gamers can access a virtual computer and use it to install and play their favourite games on. This means that you technically won’t even need gaming-grade hardware to play your favourite titles anymore, as you can stream and play your games on everything from a laptop to your smartphone and even on selected smart TVs too.

GeForce Now currently has roughly a hundred games on its library that’s free to play for subscribers already, with more added to its library every week and a total of over 1,400 titles available to stream, such as Cyberpunk 2077 and the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Yes states that their collaboration with NVIDIA will allow more Malaysians to enjoy playing video games by removing the upfront cost of needing to get gaming hardware such as a computer or a console, in line with their ‘5G for All’ mission. However, Yes has not yet revealed just when GeForce Now will be made available in Malaysia, nor have they said how much it’ll cost.

NVIDIA’s vice president of GeForce Now Phil Eisler meanwhile added that they’re working with Yes to bring their cloud gaming service to Malaysian gamers, and said that they’ll be providing a new, unique gaming experience to our shores. Eisler also claims that Yes 5G will be the perfect platform for local gamers to stream GeForce Now games.
