Malaysia’s latest low-cost carrier MYAirline, has kicked off ticket sales for three new routes from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Bharu, Penang and Sibu with one-way fares starting from as low as RM49 all-in. This comes shortly after it began commercial passenger flights to Langkawi, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu last week.
As part of its introductory offer, MYAirline is offering tickets to Penang and Kota Bharu from RM49 one-way while tickets to Sibu are priced from RM89 one-way. The price listed is all-in including taxes but it excludes other add-ons such as preferred seating, in-flight meals and checked luggage which can be purchased at extra cost. The promo is available for a limited time until 11th December 2022 and is subject to availability and specified travel period.
The flight tickets are offered for the period between 10th December 2022 to 25th March 2023 for Kota Bharu, 23rd December 2022 to 25th March 2023 for Penang and 18th January to 25th March 2023 for Sibu.
MYAirline will start flying to these new destinations with two daily return flights between KLIA2 and Kota Bharu from 10th December, followed by one daily return flight between KLIA2 and Penang on 23rd December. On 7th January 2023, it will operate two daily return flights between KLIA2 and Penang and by 18th January, it will start operating two daily return flights between KLIA2 and Sibu.
At the moment, we are still able to find RM89 fares between Kuala Lumpur and Sibu. With meals and 15kg checked luggage added, the total cost for a return flight from Kuala Lumpur to Sibu is RM272 all-in for February. For the Chinese New Year weekend in January, a return ticket from Kuala Lumpur to Sibu would cost around RM500-600 all-in without add-ons included.
MYAirline uses the Airbus A320-200 aircraft for its fleet with are configured with 180 economy seats. It features lighter and thinner non-adjustable seats which are pre-reclined at 9 degrees. Not only this helps to reduce weight but the airline boasts of having more legroom for passengers.
With the latest announcement, MYAirline currently has a total of 6 routes operating from Kuala Lumpur (KLIA2) which include Langkawi, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. The airline has also teased that Kuala Lumpur to Tawau flights will be coming soon.
