Gentari offers free EV charging up to 350kW at X Park Sunway Serene for a limited time

Following the launch of Gentari’s 350kW DC Super Charger at X Park Sunway Serene, the company is offering free EV charging for a limited time starting tomorrow, 1st December until 15th December 2022. This gives EV owners the opportunity to experience faster DC charging especially for vehicles with an 800V architecture.

Vehicles such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (72.6kWh) and KIA EV6 (77.4kWh) are rated to charge from 10-80% in just 18 minutes with a 350kW DC Charger. The Porsche Taycan (79.2kWh battery) which also uses an 800V architecture can charge from 5-80% in just 22 minutes.

Charging KIA EV6 from 50-90% takes 15 minutes.

Take note that not all vehicles can take advantage of the 350kW DC charger. Some EVs may have a maximum DC fast charging rate of 150kW, 100kW and even 50kW. The charging speeds also vary on the current state of charge as the charging rate tends to drop significantly after hitting the 50% mark. When we charged an EV6 from 50%, we got 173kW and it gradually drops to 63kW when it reaches close to 90%.

Besides the 350kW DC Charger, the X Park charging hub also offers 180kW DC chargers, 22kW AC chargers and 7kW AC chargers. The free charging promo is applicable to all chargers on the site. This is also the first EV charging hub to obtain an EVCS (Electric Vehicle Charging System) license from Energy Commission. This allows Gentari to charge based on kWh instead of time, which is a more efficient way to charge.

After 15th December 2022, customers can activate and pay for the EV charging at X Park using the Setel or JomCharge app. According to Gentari, 350kW DC charging will be charged at RM1.20 per kWh while 180kW will be charged at RM1.00 per kWh. Meanwhile, all AC charging will be charged at RM0.55 per kWh.
