Asus and Blizzard team up to launch the ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition

Fresh off launching the ROG Phone 6D series and the ROG Phone 6 Batman Edition, Asus are back with another new version of their flagship gaming smartphone, the ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition. For those of you who might not be aware, Diablo Immortal is Blizzard Entertainment’s latest game in the long-running Diablo videogame series. This particular title was made with mobile in mind, and you can now do so on what is perhaps one of the best gaming smartphones out there.

The ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition will feature a unique look, featuring a Diablo-themed design that Asus calls ‘Hellfire Red’. This comes with a special flame-effect finish to it that varies the luminance of the flames dependin on the viewing angle. The phone also comes preloaded with a Diablo-themed user interface, featuring exclusive live wallpapers, icons, animations and sound effects.

On top of that, the ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition also comes with a bunch of Diablo accessories that any Diablo fan would love to have. This includes a custom case design inspired by the Horadic Cube, which Diablo players will be very familiar with. The phone itself meanwhile is placed in a box modeled after the Worldstone, and you’ll also find a map scroll that depicts the Sanctuary with hidden markings in invisible ink that you need to reveal using the included Fahir’s Light torch. You can also protect your new Diablo smartphone with a Shield Blessing Aero case that can also be illuminated with Fahir’s Light, while even the SIM removal tool is designed to mimick the Diablo logo.

As for the rest of the hardware, it’s mostly the same as the ROG Phone 6 that we know and love. This means it packs a 6.78-inch, FHD+ AMOLED display pushing a 165Hz refresh rate with a 1ms response time. It also has a Delta E below 1 and there’s a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus over it too for scratch resistance, on top of an IPX4 rating for splash resistance. On the back, the light up ROG logo now also has the Diablo Immortal logo next to it to show off the game to your friends. There’s also the AirTrigger 6 sensors on where the shoulder buttons would be for additional buttons when gaming.

Under the hood, you’ll find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 system-on-chip with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It runs Android 12 out of the box, with your choice of either ROG UI or Zen UI skins over it. There’s also a Gamecool 6 thermal system for heat dissipation, along with a slew of gaming-focused software such as the Asus Armory Crate and Game Genie for performance modes. You’ll also be getting at least two years of major Android OS upgrades and security patches.

Elsewhere, there’s a triple camera setup on the rear packing a 50MP main camera using the SONY IMX766 sensor flanked by a 13MP ultrawide angle lens as well as a 5MP macro camera. There’s also a 12MP selfie camera using the Sony IMX663 sensor up front. Keeping the lights on meanwhile is a 6,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging, two USB-C ports for when you need to charge while gaming, front-facing stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio jack as well as an in-display fingerprint sensor and support for NFC, Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6E.

Unfortunately, Asus Malaysia have not yet been able to confirm whether or not the ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition will be coming to our shores or not, with no pricing and availability details just yet. However, they do say to stay tuned for any updates once they get the details.
