The Apple TV 4K 2022 has finally arrived in Malaysia and you can purchase it online with stocks available. This is Cupertino’s latest TV console box which runs on a more powerful chip and it costs RM150 less compared to the previous generation model.
Apple TV 4K 2022 Malaysia Price and Availability
The new Apple TV 4K 2022 comes in two options and here’s the official pricing in Malaysia:
- Apple TV 4K 2022 64GB WiFi – RM699
- Apple TV 4K 2022 128GB WiFi + Ethernet – RM799
If you’re interested, you can order it online from the official Apple Online Store and they will ship it in one business day. The Apple TV 4K 2022 comes with the Apple TV remote and power cord in the box, while the HDMI and USB-C cables are sold separately.
Apple TV 4K specs and features
The Apple TV 4K 2022 was launched last month alongside the 10th gen iPad and the iPad Pro 2022. The biggest change is the upgraded internals from an A12 Bionic to an A15 Bionic, which is the same chip that’s powering the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14. According to Apple, the new chip upgrade provides 50% better CPU and 30% better GPU performance than its predecessor. Since the A15 chip is more efficient, Apple believes there’s no need for an internal fan. As a result, the new Apple TV 4K is slightly thinner and it weighs almost half (Apple TV 4K 2022 WiFi: 208g, Apple TV 4K 2021: 430g) of its previous version.
Interestingly, Apple has dropped the Ethernet port from the base 64GB model and but it is still offered on the higher 128GB model which costs RM100 more. The Apple TV box has 802.11ax WiFi 6 WiFi as well as HDMI, AirPlay and Bluetooth. It also supports HDR10+ as well as Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
Also new is the 3rd generation Siri Remote which now charges via USB-C instead of the old lightning port. Out of the box, it runs on tvOS 16. In case you missed it, Apple has increased prices for its Apple TV+ video subscription from RM19.90/month to RM29.90/month.
