A while back, Bank Negara Malaysia instructed banks to stop sending one-time password SMS as a form of authentication for online transactions. Following that announcement, the Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia also shared some preventive steps to combat scams. Despite the ban of OTP SMS and the preventive steps, will it strengthen safeguards against financial scams?
