Acer Swift 3 OLED finally arrives in Malaysia with up to Core i7 processors, starts at RM4,399

Back in May, Acer launched the latest version of their popular Swift 3 thin-and-light laptop, with some pretty major hardware changes. However, it certainly took awhile for it to actually reach our shores, as only now has Acer brought the Swift 3 OLED in Malaysia.

Acer Swift 3 OLED Malaysia pricing and availability

The Acer Swift 3 OLED is already available for purchase in Malaysia from the Acer eStore as well as their official store on Shopee and Lazada. Available in two models, here’s how much the Swift 3 OLED will cost:

  • Swift 3 OLED, Intel Core i5-12500H, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD – RM4,399
  • Swift 3 OLED, Intel Core i7-12700H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD – RM5,399

Overall, they look set to go toe-to-toe against the Zenbook 14 OLED from Asus, which starts at RM4,799 for the base model with an Intel Core i5-1240P while the top end model packing an Intel Core i7-1260P goes for RM5,699. While the Zenbook 14 OLED might on paper have some weaker processors though, the Swift 3 OLED’s H-series chips may be trading some battery life for more performance.

Acer Swift 3 OLED specs

The Acer Swift 3’s biggest hardware upgrade is of course the 14-inch, WQXGA+ (2880 x 1800p) OLED display with a 92% screen-to-body ratio. It also pushes a 90Hz refresh rate, has a sub-0.2ms response time and a peak brightness of 500nits too. The display covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and has VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500-certified too. The whole chassis meanwhile is built of aluminum, and weighs just 1.4kg and is 17.9mm thin. The touchpad meanwhile is made of ocean-bound plastic waste too.

Acer have also put into the new Swift 3 OLED 12th Gen Intel Core H-series processors, with the base model coming with an Intel Core i5-12500H mated to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD. The higher end model meanwhile has an Intel Core i7-12700H with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD. Both configurations will be powered by Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics. The backlit keyboard meanwhile uses an air inlet design for 10% more heat dissipation compared to regular keyboard designs.

Elsewhere, there’s a 57Wh battery supporting 100W charging with up to 8 hours of battery life, an FHD webcam, stereo speakers tuned by DTS Audio and a fingerprint reader on the power key. It also comes with support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. As for I/O, you’re getting two USB-C 4 ports, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a HDMI 2.1 port and a 3.5mm audio jack. They come in just one colourway, Steel Grey.
