The Made by Google event, where they’re expected to reveal the upcoming Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, will be happening later this week on 6 October, 10pm Malaysian time. Even though we’re just days away, that hasn’t stopped people from leaking details about Android’s upcoming flagship smartphones.

A fan had apparently managed to dig up a spec sheet for the upcoming devices, and from the looks of things will feature what we already expected along with some few interesting new features. For starters, the Pixel 7 will come with a 6.3-inch, FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the Pixel 7 Pro will come with a larger 6.7-inch, QHD+ display with an adaptive refresh rate that goes up to 120Hz. It’s unfortunate to see that their ‘regular’ flagship will be limited to just 90Hz, especially when others such as Samsung has made it standard across their Galaxy S22 range; it’s still a step up over Apple locking their ProMotion display to just their iPhone Pro range though.

Meanwhile, under the hood we will be seeing Google return with their second generation Google Tensor chip, the Tensor G2. In classic Google fashion, they’ve changed up the naming scheme for the Tensor processor again, this time coming with the G prefix. We’ll be curious to see though how much of a step up Google’s next in-house design system-on-chip will be in comparison to the competition. The Pixel 7 will feature 8GB of RAM as standard with up to 128GB of storage, with the Pixel 7 Pro coming with 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

The camera department though is where Google’s smartphones typically stand out from the rest. Both devices will apparently be keeping the 50MP main camera that debuted on the Pixel 6 series, along with the 12MP ultrawide angle lens. They’ll also come with a 10.8MP front facing camera for selfies with 4K video support. The Pixel 7 Pro will feature an upgraded 48MP telephoto lens, which now offers a 5x optical zoom, up from the 4x optical zoom on the Pixel 6 Pro. You’ll also find new features such as Macro Focus on the Pixel 7 Pro and Motion Blur on both devices.

If just reading about the specs though isn’t interesting enough for you, then you’re in luck. Twitter user SnoopyTech has also found what are allegedly the upcoming video ads for the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, which you can see below:

To recap, the full reveal of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be happening this Thursday, 6 October at 10pm local time. They’ve already been hyping it up quite a bit, showing off plenty of the design of the Pixel 7 series, along with the upcoming Pixel Buds and Pixel Watch too. If you’re interested, you’ll be able to watch the event itself on the Made By Google Youtube page as it happens.
