Lego and Foodpanda announced that you can now use the Foodpanda app to get Lego sets delivered to your doorstep right away. According to their press release, this is Foodpanda’s first partnership with a first major toy brand.
“We are excited to partner with Foodpanda as we celebrate nine decades of creativity and play. Entering the quick commerce market will make it more convenient for our customers to get Lego products and bring new opportunities for people to build and play together whenever and wherever they feel like,” said U-Fong Chua, SEA e-Commerce Head at the Lego Group.
The Lego sets are now available in both Singapore and Malaysia. For Malaysia, customers can purchase Lego sets from selected Pandamart stores in Klang Valley and Seremban—which means that not all Pandamart stores have them stocked at the moment. However, Lego products are expected to be in more Pandamarts “by the end of Q4 2022”.
In the Foodpanda app (iOS, Android), you could just easily type in the word “Lego” in its search bar. If a Pandamart that carries Lego items is nearby your area, you’re able to purchase the sets available and get them delivered to your doorstep in 35 minutes—give or take. But if nothing really shows up, you probably won’t be able to get any delivered right away unless Foodpanda expands further.
Keep in mind that the Lego sets won’t be a wide variety. In Pandamart Balakong, for example, I can only find 12 different sets you can choose from—with prices ranging from RM19.90 to RM139.90. The choices are also just appealing to smaller children, and they don’t have anything too fancy like a Technics set or something more intricate.
Other delivery apps like Grab can also be used to have Lego sets sent to you similarly. But you can only get them through certain stores if you’re lucky, and the choices are a lot more limited.
Hopefully, this is an option for you in case you need to get a last-minute present for a small kid you know. I would have also loved it if it came with a gift wrap option.
