Less than a month after Vivo Malaysia launched the V25 series of smartphones, the company has added a new range-topping model to the lineup. The V25 Pro, as it’s called, gets some key upgrades over its siblings but also oddly downgrades the standard V25’s key selling point.
Vivo V25 Pro Malaysia price and availability
Just like the other models, the Pro is available in a single configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, priced at RM2,499. The phone will come with free gifts worth up to RM697 from September 24 until October 23, including Foome TWS earbuds worth RM199, one year of extended warranty worth RM199 and one year of screen crack protection worth RM299.
You can purchase the device at Vivo’s e-store website and the official Lazada, Shopee, TikTok, Astro Go Shop and PG Mall stores. It’s also available at all Vivo concept stores and authorised dealers.
Vivo V25 Pro specs and features
The biggest reason to go for the Pro model is the upgraded processor, a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 paired with 12GB of RAM – 4GB more than the other V25 models. If that’s not enough, you can “expand” the RAM by up to 8GB with the Extended RAM feature.
The battery is also larger at 4,850mAh, though you still get the same 66W of FlashCharge fast charging capability; Vivo says this will charge the phone to 71% in 30 minutes. Otherwise, it’s pretty much the same phone, at least at the back.
There, you’ll continue to find an optically-stabilised 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro shooter. There are a few imaging features that are unique to the Pro variant, such as a Super Night Mode that restores the colour and brightness of low-light photos, along with Real-Time Extreme Night Vision that boosts the brightness when previewing an image.
For video, the Pro boasts Super Night Video for optimised brightness, a Natural Portrait mode for improving skin texture and the ability to use both optical and electronic image stabilisation in video. At the front, however, the Pro loses out on the regular V25’s 50MP selfie camera – instead, you get the 32MP shooter from the cheaper V25e, albeit still with autofocus.
The selfie camera sits within a hole-punch cutout on the slightly larger 6.56-inch Full HD+ (2376×1080) AMOLED display, which is not only curved but has a higher 120Hz refresh rate (90Hz on the V25). The back is also curved, although it continues to be made from the same Fluorite AG glass. The colour-changing ability of the V25 has been retained, but only on one hue, Surfing Blue; a Starlight Black variant is also available.
Vivo TWS Air earbuds price and specs
Vivo also launched its new TWS Air earbuds, the company’s lightest wireless earbuds yet – each side weighs just 3.5 grams. Despite this, they feature Vivo’s largest 14.2mm drivers for better bass, along with active noise cancellation through two microphones. One drawback of the lightness is a battery life of just 4.5 hours, although the charging case extends this to a total of 25 hours.
The TWS Air is available in either White Bubble and Pebble Blue, priced at RM179. Again, they are offered at Vivo’s e-store website, the official Lazada, Shopee, TikTok, Astro Go Shop and PG Mall stores, Vivo concept stores and authorised dealers.
