Samsung Malaysia lowers price of their midrange Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A33 by RM150

Samsung Malaysia has announced a new reduced price tag for their popular midrange smartphones, the Galaxy A53 and the Galaxy A33. To go along with this, there will also be some new promotions for anyone looking to trade their old device for one of these new ones.

For the Galaxy A53, it had originally launched back in March this year at RM1,849. It has now been reduced to RM1,699. As for the Galaxy A33 meanwhile, it also debuted in March with a RM1,499 retail price, but will now be available for just RM1,349. This means that both devices have gotten a RM150 price cut.

Furthermore, Samsung has also revealed some new promotions for these two devices. You’ll be able to snag an additional rebate of up to RM150 when you trade-in your old device, on top of what you’d already get from trading in. Samsung are also offering a 40% discount on a travel adapter plug when you purchase one of these devices, as well as the Galaxy A73. Both of these offers will last till the end of the month. Meanwhile, buyers will also be able to get six months of Microsoft OneDrive 100GB cloud storage for free if you purchase one of these devices from now till the end of January next year.

As a quick recap, the Galaxy A53 features a 6.5-inch, FHD+ Super AMOLED display with an Infinity-O cutout up front, with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for scratch resistance too. Under the hood, it packs the Exynos 1280 midrange processor mated to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. As for cameras, there’s a quad rear camera setup, with a main 64MP shooter flanked bby a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro lens and a 5MP bokeh sensor, while for selfies there’s a 32MP front facing camera. Powering it all is a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging.

The Galaxy A33 meanwhile has a 6.4-inch, FHD+ Super AMOLED display with an old school notch instead as well as a rather thick chin. It also gets just a 90Hz refresh rate, though still offers Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Despite sitting below the Galaxy A53, it has the same Exynos 1280 processor underneath, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Its cameras though are weaker, with a 48MP main camera flanked by an 8MP ultrawide shooter, a 5MP macro lens and a 2MP bokeh sensor, as well as a 13MP selfie camera in front. The Galaxy A33 also gest a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging.
