Acer expands their ‘green’ Vero series with new TravelMate Vero, Vero AIO and Vero Mini PC

Acer has been pushing their sustainability goals a lot in the past year, with their Vero lineup the main focus of their efforts. We’ve already seen the arrival of the Aspire Vero last year as well as the Aspire Vero Nat Geo Edition earlier this year. During the recent Acer Day event though, they’ve now also introduced the TravelMate Vero laptop, the Veriton Vero All-In-One (AIO) desktop as well as the Veriton Vero Mini PC.

Acer Vero series Malaysia pricing and availability

The business-focused Acer TravelMate Vero laptop will only come in one configuration, using the last generation Intel Core i5-1155G7. The two other Vero desktops though will come with the newer Intel Core i5-12400 processor. They all offer an eco-friendly alternative to their regular options, and here’s how much they’ll cost you:

  • TravelMate Vero, Intel Core i5-1155G7, 8GB RAM, 1TB SSD – RM3,999
  • Veriton Vero All-In-One, Intel Core i5-12400, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD – RM4,599
  • Veriton Vero Mini, Intel Core i5-12400, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD – RM3,299

As for where to get them, Acer says that the TravelMate Vero will be available from the Acer eStore as well as their official Shopee and Lazada stores. Those who do purchase one of these laptops for themselves by 30 September will be able to redeem a free Acer wireless mouse, a backpack as well as RM120 in Touch n’ Go eWallet credit. There’s an additional RM200 off too if you buy it from the Acer Day roadshow.

As for the Veriton Vero AIO and Veriton Vero Mini, it seems as though trying to get one yourself might include a couple more hoops to go through. According to Acer’s press release, you’ll need to contact them by emailing “ama.marcom@acer.com” about it.

Acer TravelMate Vero specs

The Acer TravelMate Vero, as its name suggests, is the latest laptop in both their business laptop TravelMate range as well as their eco-friendly Vero line. Its chassis is made of at least 30% post-consumer recycled plastic, while the keycaps themselves are made of 50% post-consumer recycled plastic. It doesn’t have any paint on the body either, with the Acer, Intel and TravelMate Vero logos all imprinted onto the body itself rather than using stickers. Just like the Aspire Vero, the R and E keys are flipped, as part of Acer’s way to remind people to reduce, reuse and recycle. The packaging around the laptop is 100% recyclable too, and doesn’t use LDPE foam nor plastic bags.

As for the display, you’re getting a 15.6-inch, FHD IPS display, while under the hood is the 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1155G7, a souped up version of the more commonly found Core i5-1135G7. That gets mated to 8GB of DDR4 RAM and a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. As a business-focused laptop, it ships with an Acer Commercial BIOS out of the box, allowing for custom startup splash screens as well as a discrete TPM chip, a Kensington lock and Acer ProShield Plus, a software providing additional security and biometric protection. It also comes with Windows 11 Pro out of the box.

Elsewhere, there’s a 720p webcam with a shutter cover above the display while the battery is rated for seven hours of use, with a 65W charger bundled along. You’ll also find a HDMI 2.0 port, two USB-A 3.2 ports, a USB-C 3.2 port, an Ethernet port as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack for I/O on the TravelMate Vero. Wireless connectivity meanwhile gets taken care of by Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 6 connectivity. The TravelMate Vero weighs about 1.8kg and measures 17.9mm thick, and will come with three years of warranty.

Acer Veriton Vero All-In-One specs

For those of you looking for an easy-to-use, ready-to-go family PC, the Veriton Vero All-In-One (AIO) is an eco-friendly computer that is built with 30% post-consumer recycled material with a built-in 24-inch, FHD IPS display with an 88% screen-to-body ratio and a maximum brightness of 250nits. It comes with a keyboard and mouse also built with recycled material, and uses 100% recyclable packaging. It also has a screwless back cover for easy fixing.

The Veriton Vero AIO will pack a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12400, together with 8GB of DDR4 RAM and a 512GB PCIe SSD. Graphics meanwhile get handled by Intel UHD 730 integrated graphics, and you’ll get Windows 11 Pro out of the box. Just like the TravelMate Vero, you’ll find a number of security features here, such as a TPM chip, HDD password protection, a file shredder and a one-button recovery tool for the OS. There’s Tobii Aware too that automatically blurs your display when it detects that you walk away. It’s also worth noting that you can apparently addon more system memory and storage too if you need to.

One cool feature of the Veriton Vero AIO is that the built-in 5MP webcam allows you to flip up or down the camera to hide it when not in use; it comes with Windows Hello too for biometric security. You’ll also find stereo speakers, and a DVD drive on the side too. As for I/O, you’ll find an Ethernet port, a HDMI port, a DisplayPort, a Serial port, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a USB-C 3.2 port and a USB-A 2.0 port. You’ll also get wireless connectivity via Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6.

Acer Veriton Vero Mini specs

Lastly, there’s also the Acer Veriton Vero Mini, a tiny little computer in a small form-factor case made of 25% post-consumer recycled plastic. It packs an Intel Core i5-12400 with 8GB of DDR4 RAM and a 256GB PCIe SSD, with upgradable RAM and storage too. Just like the Veriton Vero AIO, there’s integrated Intel UHD 730 graphics and comes preloaded with Windows 11 Pro, along with HDD password protection, TPM chip, file shredder and the one-button OS recovery tool.

The Veriton Vero Mini weighs 1.3kg and comes packaged in 100% recyclable packing. For I/O, you get an Ethernet port, a HDMI port, a DisplayPort, two USB-A 2.0 ports, three USB 3.2 ports, two USB 2.0 ports and a 3.5mm audio jack. While you won’t be getting a display along with the Veriton Vero Mini, you do get a free PCR-built USB keyboard and mouse along with the Veriton Vero Mini.
