Xiaomi Malaysia has introduced its Smart Band 7 which is the 7th generation model of its popular fitness band. While it retains a similar design and form factor, the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 gets a couple of upgrades and it is now slightly pricier than before.

Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Malaysia Pricing and Availability

The Xiaomi Smart Band 7 is retailing for RM199 and you can order it online via its official stores on Lazada and Shopee, as well as Xiaomi authorised retailers throughout Malaysia. As a comparison, the previous Smart Band 6 was launched at a retail price of RM189.

Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Specs

The Xiaomi Smart Band 7 comes with a 1.62″ AMOLED display which Xiaomi claims to offer 25% larger visible area than the 1.56″ display on the previous model. The screen boasts up to 500 nits of brightness, which is slightly brighter than the Smart Band 6 and it has a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch.

The fitness band still retains a 6-axis sensor that consists of low power-consumption 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope. It can track over 110 sports modes and has sleep monitoring as well as all-day SpO2 and heart rate monitoring.

New on the Smart Band 7 is the VO₂ Max workout analysis which can measure maximum rates of oxygen consumption during incremental exercise. Xiaomi says it can calculate relative rates in mililitres of oxygen per kilogram of body mass per minute. With VO₂ Max, the new band offers 3 extra functions namely Training Load, Recovery Duration and Training Effect, which can help you evaluate and adjust workout schedule and intensity for maximum performance potential.

As usual, it gets 5ATM rated water resistance which allows you to take it for a swim and submerge it up to 50 metres deep. On a single charge, it can provide up to 14 days of use on typical usage or up to 9 days with heavy use.

Similar to its predecessor, the Smart Band 7 gets a magnetic charging cable, which makes it easier to charge without taking the fitness band from the strap. The fitness band connects supports Bluetooth 5.2 and it can work with smartphones running on Android 6.0 and above as well as iPhone models running on iOS 10 and above via the Mi Fitness app.
