Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Poco, is launching its new C40 smartphone next week. This is the first C series smartphone and it claims to have the biggest display yet on a Poco device.
The Poco C40 launch is happening on 16th June 2022 and the event will be streamed live across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Poco’s website. At the time of writing, there’s no specific time yet and we expect Poco to drop more details in the coming days.
The Poco C40 is expected to be their new entry-level device and we reckon that the C-series is positioned below the Poco M-series. Based on their teasers on Twitter, the Poco C40 will feature a 6.71″ Dot Drop display and it will get a huge 6,000mAh battery. In another teaser, it appears to have a square camera bump with a full-width raised element that has the Poco branding on the rear. It seems that the device will also get a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Poco has confirmed that the C40 will be available in striking Poco Yellow.

Looking at the screen size and design, we are guessing that this could be a rehashed Redmi 10C which was launched in Malaysia a few months ago from RM559. The Redmi 10C gets a 6.71″ HD 720p display with a tiny notch and it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor with 4G connectivity. For cameras, it gets a dual-camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera and 2MP depth shooter, while the front gets a 5MP selfie shooter.
The Redmi 10C gets a slightly smaller 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast-charging via USB-C. However, the box only comes with a rather basic 10W charger. For Malaysia, the Redmi 10C is offered with 4GB RAM and a choice of either 64GB or 128GB of storage.
