Honor Magic 4 Pro Malaysia: Everything you need to know

The Honor Magic 4 Pro is finally here in Malaysia. Having first debuted at MWC 2022 in Barcelona, it would be the first real Honor flagship smartphone available in Malaysia for years now after a number of midrange devices from them last year.

Honor Magic 4 Pro Malaysia pricing and availability

Dubbed the ‘pain point killer’ smartphone, the Honor Magic 4 Pro comes in just one configuration with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of storage. It’s priced at RM3,999, and you can get it from the official Honor Malaysia eStore, their official stores on Lazada and Shopee as well as their retail partners nationwide.

Furthermore, Honor Malaysia are having a pre-order promotion starting from 5pm, 1 June onwards where if you pre-order a Magic 4 Pro, you’ll also be able to get a free Honor Watch GS 3, a Magic 4 Pro phone case, a 1+1 year extended warranty as well as 6 months of screen crack protection worth RM1,656. The pre-order promotion lasts till the 10th of June and while stocks last.

Honor Magic 4 Pro Malaysia specs

Right off the bat, the Honor Magic 4 Pro will come off as a fairly large smartphone thanks to its 6.81-inch, quad curved LTPO OLED display. It comes with a 1312 x 2848p resolution with a pixel density of 460ppi, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a pulse width modulation (PWM) of 1920Hz that Honor claims reduces screen flicker and won’t hurt your eyes. Covering the whole DCI-P3 colour gamut, it also has HDR10+ support with a 1000nits peak brightness. The Magic 4 Pro also has an independent display chipset in it for SDR to HDR upscaling, while also able to artificially increase framerates to 120Hz.

As with most other Android flagships here, the Honor Magic 4 Pro will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 system-on-chip under the hood, mated to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of storage. It runs Magic UI 6.0 out of the box based on Android 12, and will have Google Mobile Services too. However, it gets just two guaranteed years of Android OS upgrades if that’s a concern to you.

On the back of the device is a triple camera setup with a 50MP, f/1.8 main camera alongside a 50MP, f/2.2 ultrawide lens as well as a 64MP, f/3.5 periscope telephoto camera offering 3.5x optical zoom along with up to 100x digital zoom. There’s also a 8*8 dToF laser focusing sensor and a flicker sensor on the giant circular camera island. The Magic 4 Pro has an ultra fusion photography feature too, allowing it to take pictures using multiple rear cameras and then using AI to get the best results. The front of the device meanwhile has a 12MP, f/2.4 camera for your selfie needs, together with a 3D ToF depth sensor.

Other features of note include a 4,600mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging as well as 100W wireless fast charging with Honor SuperCharge. Do note though that the 100W wireless fast charger is an optional purchase, priced at RM299. The Magic 4 Pro supports Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6 and NFC connectivity too. There’s also an under display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. You’ll be able to get it in cyan, gold and black colours.
