Shortly after introducing the Realme 9 Pro series, Realme Malaysia has just introduced its Free Fire Limited Edition of its Realme 9 Pro+ 5G. Besides the gamer aesthetics, this Realme smartphone also gets a couple of extras for die-hard Free Fire gamers.
The Realme 9 Pro+ Free Fire for Malaysia comes in a single variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage, and it’s priced at RM1,499. That’s RM100 more than the regular version.
If you plan to buy the Realme 9 Pro+ Free Fire limited edition online, it is sold exclusively via Shopee on the 20th May 2022. The first 50 buyers will also get a pair of Realme Buds Air 2 Neo for free.
The device is also available at Realme authorised stores starting 20th May 2022. If you purchased it in stores, you’ll get a set of Realme Gaming Finger Sleeve and Gaming Controller, while stocks last.
Unlike your standard Realme 9 Pro+ device, the limited edition comes in unique packaging which opens up a printed-out map of the Free Fire universe. Also included are a bunch of unique custom stickers of Free Fire elements.
The hardware of the Realme 9 Pro+ Free Fire is identical to the normal phone but with some exterior differences. It still features a 6.4″ Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, it runs on a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G processor with 8GB RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
To stand out from the crowd, the limited-edition device features elements from the battle royale game on the rear panel which represents a Free Fire knife, knife blade and gun barrel reflection. There’s also the “FREE FIRE” branding on the back and a “BOOYAH!” label next to the camera bump.
For taking pictures, the device gets a triple-camera setup which includes a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies, the device gets a 16MP front camera that sits on a tiny punch-hole on the top-left of the screen.
Powering the device is a 4,500mAh battery that supports 60W SuperDart Charge via USB-C. The bundled Super DartCharger is rated to push 50% charge in about 15 minutes. If audio is important to you, you’ll be happy to know that the Realme 9 Pro+ has stereo speakers and it still retains the good ol’ 3.5mm headphone jack.
Besides supporting 5G in both SA and NSA modes, the Realme 9 Pro+ also supports 802.11ax WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. Out of the box, it runs on Android 12 with Realme UI 3.0 skin on top.
