The Oppo Find X5 Pro which was introduced in February has finally arrived in Malaysia. This is Oppo’s top-of-the-line flagship smartphone featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 gen 1 processor and a triple-camera setup that’s co-developed with Hasselblad.
The Oppo Find X5 Pro comes in a single 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration and it’s officially priced at RM4,999 in Malaysia. Interestingly, that’s the same retail price tag as the Vivo X80 Pro. As a comparison, last year’s Find X3 Pro which also comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at RM4,299. The X5 Pro is offered in two colours – Glaze Black and Ceramic White.
The first sale is happening on the 28th of May 2022 and Oppo is now offering a pre-order promo for the X5 Pro. From now until 27th May, pre-order customers can get freebies worth up to RM1,397. This includes the Oppo Enco X2 TWS headphones worth RM799, 1 year screen protection worth RM399, 1 year extended warranty worth RM199 and extra privileges via MY Oppo App upon signing up.
Customers that pre-order via Oppo official online store, Shopee and Lazada will also get additional gifts including a Kevlar phone case worth RM129, a Touch ‘n Go reload pin worth RM100 and a gift voucher worth RM100.
The Find X5 Pro is currently Oppo’s most premium smartphone. Upfront, it gets a 6.7″ Quad HD+ (3216×1440 pixels) curved AMOLED display that can support an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz. It is powered by Qualcomm’s current top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 gen 1 with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
For taking pictures, the device gets a triple-camera setup that’s housed in a smoothly raised camera bump. It gets two 50MP Sony IMX766 sensors for main and ultra-wide-angle shots and a 13MP telephoto camera that can push 5x hybrid optical zoom and up to 20x digital zoom. To step up its photography game, the Find X5 Pro also has a MariSilion X custom image neural processing unit for better AI photography as well as a Hasselblad Natural Colour Calibration feature in Pro Mode. For selfies, the device gets a 32MP front camera that uses a Sony IMX 709 sensor.
Being a flagship device, the Find X5 Pro gets Gorilla Glass Victus protection for the screen and a premium ceramic back. It also has IP68 rated dust and water resistance which can survive accidental splashes and submerssions. Like most 2022 flagships, you don’t get a headphone jack but you do get stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos enhancement.
Keeping the lights on is a generous 5,000mAh battery and it supports 80W SuperVOOC wired fast charging as well as 50W AirVOOC wireless charging. According to Oppo, you can get 50% charge from zero in just 12 minutes of SuperVOOC charging via USB-C, while a full charge takes just 35 minutes.
Out of the box, it runs on Android 12 with ColorOS 12.1 skin on top. To complete the premium experience, Oppo Malaysia is providing a free courier send-in service and there’s a dedicated 24-hour exclusive hotline for priority customer service. On top of that, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is also covered by international warranty for a worry-free experience when you travel overseas.
