DJI is launching something next week. Could it be the DJI Mini 3 Pro?

DJI has announced that it has something in store for fans happening next week on the 10th of May, 9am EDT (9pm local time). However, if you were hoping for seeing what exactly it is DJI has planned for us then you’re out of luck, as DJI has not given any real information about what they plan to launch.

That being said, we do have an educated guess as to what it could be. The DJI Mini 3 Pro has already been leaked last month, with videos of it showing a redesigned body to the drone with the camera module now more exposed and rotating arms too. It’s understood to still weigh the same as the Mini 2 though at 249g, with some extra ‘flagship’ features apparently on the cards such as a larger battery and obstacle avoidance sensors. The remote controller for the DJI Mini 3 Pro will also be redesigned, with a built in display on it rather than needing to pair it with your smartphone.

Oddly enough, while the announcement page on the DJI website didn’t mention anything about the DJI Mini 3 Pro or indeed any device, it did have a ‘Try the New Product’ button. Clicking on the button leads you to SkyPixel, the aerial photography community formed by DJI and its Product Tryout Program. Essentially, it seems as though they are also recruiting product testers for whatever they are about to launch, and if you do sign up and get your application approved, you’ll get 28 days to try out their new product.

As for whether it’ll come to Malaysia or not, it seems as though there’s a good chance that it will. Local electronics store Senheng has already posted on their social media the same teaser pics that DJI used, including the ‘A Twist in the Plot’ tagline. They also used the same release date of 10 May, except this time with the local timing instead, perhaps implying that local pre-orders will be available shortly after the launch event.
