Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team driver Sir Lewis Hamilton was spotted in Kuala Lumpur early this week together with teammate George Russell. Now, a Shopee seller has listed a plastic stool that’s allegedly used by the seven-time world champion.
The item listed as “Kerusi Bekas Tempat Duduk Pelumba Dunia F1 Lewis Hamilton (Rare Item)” is selling for RM2,888.88. It is put on sale by limabintangautoparts, a Preferred Shopee seller that has been on the platform for three years with a rather high rating of 4.9 stars. The stool even gets Shopee’s 100% Authentic Guarantee badge which promises to offer your money back if the item is not authentic. But honestly, who can tell if it was indeed used by Hamilton himself?
The item on sale looks like the typical stackable plastic stool that you can buy for less than RM10. According to the description, the item is extremely rare and limited, and it even has Lewis Hamilton’s butt prints on it. To maintain the freshness, the seller said the stool was wrapped immediately after use. Despite being “one of a kind”, there are 9999 units available.
Using the store voucher, the stool costs RM2,868.88 without shipping or applying Shopee coins. If you’re serious, the seller mentions that the price is still negotiable via live chat. Installments are also available for up to 18 months via Maybank credit card.
Besides the “Lewis Hamilton stool”, there are other quirky items being sold on Shopee. We’ve seen sellers selling rocks and leaves, and you could even commission an artist to draw a bad portrait of you for less than RM1.
According to Petronas, this is Lewis Hamilton’s first visit in two years and he has shown George Russell around for the first time. From the looks of it, the F1 driver is in town to shoot a new Petronas ad. He has been in a couple of Petronas videos including the “Dear Malaysia” ad released seven years ago.
