Samsung Galaxy A33, A53 and A73 hardware specs
The Samsung Galaxy A series aims to offer flagship features at a lower price. The base Galaxy A33 gets a 6.4″ Full HD+ 90Hz AMOLED display with an Infinity-V notch while the Galaxy A53 gets a 6.5″ Full HD+ 120Hz AMOLED with a tiny punch-hole. The top-of-the-line Galaxy A73 gets a larger 6.7″ Full HD+ AMOLED display which also pushes 120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole for the selfie camera. Under the hood, the smaller A33 and A53 runs on Samsung’s own Exynos 1280 chip while the A73 gets a Snapdragon 778G processor, which is similar to last year’s Galaxy A52s 5G.
For taking pictures, the Galaxy A73 gets a quad-camera setup with a high-resolution 108MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), a 12MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, 5MP macro and 5MP bokeh shooter. The A53 takes things down a notch with a 64MP main camera with OIS while the base A33 gets a lower 48MP main shooter but it still has OIS. The other cameras on the Galaxy A33 are different as well as it has an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP macro lens and a 2MP bokeh sensor. The bigger A73 and A53 get a 32MP selfie camera in a punch-hole while the A33 settles for a 13MP front camera.
Regardless of which new A series you pick, all three get IP67-rated dust and water resistance, as well as a large 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging via USB-C. Unfortunately, Samsung is no longer providing a charger in the box and they have also removed the 3.5mm headphone jack. You do still get a microSD card expansion slot for all three models. Out of the box, the devices run on Android 12 with One UI 4.1 skin on top.
