In today’s episode, we’ll talk about the COVID-19 vaccination program for kids in Malaysia. We’ll also talk about whether or not driving schools will be suspended over students’ involvement in road accidents.

AirAsia X resumes commercial flight on 14 February after approval of debt restructuring plan

Long-haul low-cost airline AirAsia X is finally taking off again by resuming its first commercial flight following the approval of its debt restructuring plan. Their first post-pandemic passenger service is between Kuala Lumpur and Sydney which will begin from 14th February 2022. They are now accepting flight bookings on their website. PSA: SmartTAG does not work for RFID lanes

RFID is now accepted at all toll highways on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia which is the first step towards Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) implementation. Although the RFID rollout on PLUS Highway isn’t as smooth as expected, some of these issues are caused by non-RFID users. Read more about it here.

PICKids: Malaysia aims to vaccinate 50% of children aged 5-11 with at least one dose by end of February

The Transport Ministry did not have plans to revoke or suspend the permits of driving institutes whose students become involved in traffic accidents, Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong said yesterday. Learn more here.

Malaysia has officially started PICKids, its COVID-19 vaccination programme for children below 12 today. According to Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, PICKids is the last piece of the puzzle to the National Immunisation Programme which has already fully vaccinated 88.6% of teens (12-17 years old) and 97.9% of adults (18 years old and above) throughout the country.
