Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has officially launched the new Rapid KL My50 unlimited travel pass. The new pass which costs RM50/month will replace the current My30 pass (RM30/month) starting from 1st January 2022. This means frequent public transport users will have to pay RM20 more for their unlimited monthly pass starting next month.

The My50 pass provides unlimited rides on all services operated by Prasarana Malaysia Berhad which include LRT, MRT, Monorail, BRT, Rapid KL bus, and MRT feeder bus within the Klang Valley for 30 consecutive days. According to Dr Wee Ka Siong, the My50 pass was made possible with the RM115 million allocation under the National Recovery Plan which reduces the normal fare of RM200 to RM50 per month. The government subsidy will enable Prasarana to provide the facility at an affordable rate for commuters who rely on their services.

In Penang, the My50 unlimited travel pass for Rapid Penang buses is called Mutiara Pass.

The existing My30 pass was introduced in June 2020 to help the public weather the impact of COVID-19. If your current My30 pass expires before 1st January 2022, the last chance for you to renew it for RM30/month is on 31st December 2021. The new My50 unlimited travel pass is available for purchase from 1st January to 31st December 2022.

Take note that the My50 unlimited travel pass is only offered to Malaysian citizens with a valid MyKad or MyTentera ID. The unlimited pass will be tied to your MyKad or MyTentera. It is available for purchase at all LRT, MRT, Monorail, and BRT stations as well as selected Rapid KL bus hubs.

Before the pandemic, the unlimited travel pass for Rapid KL bus and train services including the LRT, BRT, MRT, monorail, and MRT feeder bus costs RM100/month.
