Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon now available in Malaysia with 2.8K, 90Hz OLED displays

OLED displays continue to proliferate into the laptop scene, with more and more machines these days coming with OLED screens over the classic IPS panels. Lenovo is the latest to introduce laptops with OLED displays, in the form of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon.

Pricing and availability

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon is now available and can be bought from either the Lenovo Malaysia Official Online Store as well as authorised sellers on Lazada and Shopee. Pricing for the two laptop configurations are as follows, but do take note that they will cost more if purchased not from the Lenovo Malaysia Official Online Store. Buying via their online store also gets you a bunch of automatically applied eCoupons too for more savings.

  • Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon, AMD Ryzen 7 5800U, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD – RM6,059

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon specs

As its name implies, it’s a fairly thin and light laptop, weighing in at just just 1.1kg and just 14.9mm thick. Its big selling point here is really the 14-inch OLED display, which has a 16:10, 2880 x 1800p resolution. It’s also capable of a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 400nits of brightness. The glossy display covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, has HDR 500 True Black certification as well as Dolby Vision too.

Under the hood, you’ll find either the AMD Ryzen 5 5600U or the AMD Ryzen 7 5800U processor. You’ll also get either 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM and a 512GB SSD. You’ll also apparently be able to add on an optional NVIDIA GeForce MX450 graphics card too if you’d like, although at time of writing there are no models with said graphics card available on their website. Keeping the lights on is a 61Whr 4-cell battery that Lenovo claims will last you up to 14.5 hours of local video playback, while the 65W power brick will get you up to three hours of use with just a 15 minute charge. The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon will also come with Windows 11 out of the box.

Other notable features include a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos and a 720p webcam with IR and time-of-flight functionality. As for I/O, you’ll find two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port, a physical camera shutter switch and a 3.5mm audio combo jack. Unfortunately though, Lenovo has decided to skip out on including a full fat USB-A port, so you’ll want to keep that in mind when considering the Yoga Slim 7 Carbon. It’ll also come with support for WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon comes in just the Cloud Grey colourway over its carbon fiber reinforced chassis.
