Fancy a joyride to KLIA? The ERL will only cost RM1 this weekend

Looking for something to do this weekend? Well how about a trip on the Express Rail Link (ERL) for just RM1 and visiting each station along the way for a bunch of activities too?

Yes, you read that right. On the 27th and 28th of November, a one way ticket to any station along the ERL will cost you just RM1. It’s part of a campaign by Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to encourage local leisure travel. As part of the plan, ERL are increasing the train frequency to every half hour between 9am and 9pm, with the specific times on their website. And in order to enjoy the RM1 fare, you will need to use the KLIA Express App, which is available on the App Store and Google Play Store. Tickets are also already on sale now, and if you’re planning to go with your family, you can also buy tickets for multiple people.

But as we mentioned, each station will be host to a bunch of activities and booths too, with the most exciting one being the KL Sentral Station. There, you can expect to see things like cultural performances, buskers, RM5 tickets for KL hop-on-hop-off bus rides and even a arts and crafts bazaar by SukaSeni. At the KLIA Transit Bandar Tasik Selatan station meanwhile will be a CoratCoret bazaar and a doodle art wall too for the kids. Putrajaya & Cyberjaya Station will host a lifestyle bazaar and a Putrajaya Escape tour of the town for just RM6 per adult, while Salak Tinggi Station is where you want to go for urban street dining. Lastly, the KLIA and KLIA2 stops will host a sale where you can have your shopping sprees at.

“ERL is very delighted to be able to play our part in supporting the government’s initiative in reviving the leisure travel industry, and being one of the players in the industry that has been impacted tremendously by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we believe that everyone should play their role to support national recovery.

ERL is partnering with various industry players for the campaign including Tabung Haji, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), KL Hop-On Hop-Off, Perbadanan Putrajaya, Sukaseni, foodpanda, NU Sentral, Mitsui Outlet Park, local travel community LOCCO and urban street dining operator, TAPAK,” – Noormah Mohd Noor, ERL Chief Executive Officer

If you do plan to go for the RM1 ERL joyride weekend, one thing you won’t want to miss out on is to collect a stamp at each station. Once you have all 6 stamps you can then redeem a special gift at ERL ticket counters in either KL Sentral or KLIA2. You’ll also be able to purchase some limited edition KLIA Express merchandise too at the KL Sentral, KLIA and KLIA2 stations.

It should go without saying of course that those taking part in the activities this weekend will need to practice social distancing, keep their masks on and to comply with the safety SOPs the whole time. For more information on the RM1 ERL joyrides and to see their full list of activities at each station, you can head over to the KLIA Express website.
