Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra appears to come with 5,000mAh battery and space to store an S Pen

It was just last month when we heard that Samsung might be planning to make the upcoming Galaxy S22 Ultra their Note series replacement, complete with a stylus silo for an S Pen to sit in. However, while there were some reports of a possible 65W fast charging for the Galaxy S22 series, it was later contradicted by an alleged Chinese CCC certification that claimed a maximum of 25W fast charging only.

Nevertheless, serial leakster and Samsung aficionado Ice Universe now claims that for the Galaxy S22 Ultra at least, it will feature 45W fast charging. Furthermore, he says that it’ll come with a 5,000mAh battery too. For comparison, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G also had a 5,000mAh battery was was held back by its measly 25W fast charging only. However, it wouldn’t be the first Samsung smartphone to use 45W fast charging, as the older Galaxy Note 10+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra did have 45W charging speeds.

That wasn’t the only new piece of info from Ice Universe about the Galaxy S22 Ultra though. He also shared what are apparently images of tempered glass protectors that are meant for the upcoming flagship. The sharp corners on the tempered glass seems to imply that the design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be fairly boxy, again very similar to the Galaxy Note devices of past.

And lastly, there’s also some news on the possible processor that Samsung will be using on the Galaxy S22 series. Word on the street is that Samsung might be releasing two versions of each device in the Galaxy S22 family, using the Exynos 2200 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 system-on-chips respectively. This comes after reports of US and China telcos requesting that Samsung bring in Exynos-powered versions of the Galaxy S22 lineup to their respective regions. This could mean the end of Samsung’s typical policy of splitting their Exynos and Snapdragon-powered devices based on region.

It’s a curious choice for Samsung to change up the Galaxy S22 Ultra this much, but whether or not it’ll satisfy their Note series fanbase enough remains to be seen. If you’re a Samsung Galaxy Note user who laments the death of the series, let us know if you’ll be checking out the Galaxy S22 Ultra when it launches below.
