Yes, it’s only October, but Lego is already thinking of what you can get your friends and family this Christmas. This time, you can consider getting the Lego Ideas Home Alone set (21330)—based on one of the most well-known Christmas movie franchises.

The set was initially brought on and pitched as a set idea for Lego Ideas—which allows users to submit ideas for Lego products—by Alex Storozhuk. The Lego designers kept most of Storozhuk’s designs, like the break-away sections to reveal the interiors of the home.

The large McCallister home itself can be displayed like a dollhouse. It includes brown brick walls and even the windows at the attic where Kevin oversleeps in. At the back, there is the back door where the “wet bandits” try to sneak through.

The set has 3,957 pieces, making the set the largest Lego Ideas set in terms of piece count. It includes many little details that you would be able to recognise if you’ve watched the first Home Alone film, including the basketball player cutout, the bathroom where Kevin makes that face, and even the iconic traps that Kevin uses to defend his home against the “wet bandits”.

Besides opening it up like a dollhouse, each floor is modular and removable to allow ease of access to the inside of the set. The set includes several distinct rooms across the ground floor, first floor, attic, kitchen, and basement.

With the tiny details, you can recreate the classic scenes from the movie. The set comes with five key mini-figures from the film including Kevin, Harry, Marv, Kate, and old man Marley. You’d also get the treehouse and the Oh-Kay van.

The Lego Ideas Home Alone set will be available at Lego.com and Lego-certified stores from 1 November 2021 for USD 249.99 (RM1,039.28). It might be a fun activity for the family during Christmas, but please note that the set is recommended for people ages 18 and above.

Another big Lego project that you can consider is the Lego Titanic set. It is a whopping 135cm long from bow to stern—which is 25cm more than the Lego Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer.
