Top 4 things to know about Netflix on Astro

This post is brought to you by Astro

Earlier in June, Astro announced a partnership with Netflix where Netflix content will be integrated into the Astro Ultra and Ulti Connected boxes. This is part of the new Astro experience where all the best streaming services like HBO Go, China’s iQIYI, and recently Disney+ Hotstar will be aggregated to give you the best-loved originals, vernacular signatures, live sports and local blockbuster movies all in one place.

Ever since the announcement, many netizens have been wondering what this partnership will mean for the users, and here are four things you need to know about Netflix on Astro:

1. “Will Netflix be automatically added to my Astro subscription?”

Astro subscribers will have the freedom to subscribe to Netflix via Astro, or they may also choose to continue subscribing via Netflix directly on their own.

2. “The partnership with Netflix is not a monopoly of OTT apps”

Astro wants to give our members the convenience of having all their favorite series, exciting originals, vernacular signatures, live sports and local blockbuster movies in one place. Astro customers will be able to enjoy greater convenience by having Netflix bundled with their Astro subscription, consolidating the subscriptions and providing easy access for payment in a single bill, at the best value.

3. “Will I be able to access Netflix on my Ultra Box?

At launch, Astro customers will be able to enjoy the seamless integration and access to Netflix via their connected Ultra Boxes, so customers can watch Netflix on their TV. For connected Ulti Boxes, the integration will be available in the coming months.

4. “Astro will censor Netflix content”

Absolutely not. Astro wants to give our members the convenience of having all their favorite series, exciting originals, vernacular signatures, live sports and local blockbuster movies all in one place.

We will keep you updated as more details are released for this Astro x Netflix Partnership, including more details on pricing, billing and availability.

In the meantime, Astro has already added a special “Netflix” button on its latest remote control. We’re assuming that, by clicking the button, it will lead us to the Netflix homepage? Can’t wait!

Of course, we have to wait till the official launch to start using it. Head here to learn more about Astro subscriptions.

“Look forward to catching these exciting movies and series when Astro X Netflix launches!”
