All Maybank branch staff are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, customers are still served by appointment only

Maybank has announced that all employees at its branches nationwide have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This is part of its continuous efforts to provide a safer banking experience to all while supporting the nation’s effort to vaccinate as many Malaysians as possible to curb the spread of the pandemic.

Besides having its workforce fully vaccinated, all branch employees undergo COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Tests every two weeks as part of their health and safety measures. It added that as a first contact point for customers, all branch employees play an important role in providing a smooth and stress-free banking experience. By having all branch employees fully vaccinated and consistently tested, Maybank hopes to reassure its customers of its commitment to provide them a safer environment to perform their banking transactions.

Customers are still required to make an appointment

If you plan to visit a physical Maybank branch to conduct banking transactions, they are still requiring customers to make an appointment. This can be done via its EzyQ system which was introduced during the pandemic. The appointment system is aimed at reducing waiting time, prevent overcrowding and reducing customers’ exposure to COVID-19.

Existing SOPs still apply which include wearing a face mask, physical distancing, and temperature scanning. Maybank still encourages customers to use their digital platforms including MAE and Maybank2u as much as possible. Only customers without COVID-19 symptoms and who are categorised as “low risk” in MySejahtera are permitted to enter the physical branch. Do note that some state governments may enforce further restrictions such as entry only for fully vaccinated individuals.
