Lego Titanic set will make you feel like the king of the world, as it is the longest Lego set ever

A lot of us would only be familiar with the Titanic because of James Cameron’s blockbuster, but the RMS Titanic was a legend even without the film as it shockingly sunk in the North Atlantic Ocean in 1912. Despite its tragic backstory, the ship was one of the largest and most opulent ships in the world as it was designed to be “the pinnacle of comfort and luxury”. Lego has announced that they have created a masterpiece of set in tribute to it, which includes micro-scale replicas on its interior.

The Lego Titanic (10294) is 135cm long from bow to stern—which is 25cm more than the Lego Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75252) which was previously the record holder for the longest Lego set. The scale of this Titanic model is 1:200, and has 9,090 pieces. That means that it is also the second set in Lego’s repertoire with the highest number of pieces, behind Lego World Map (31203) with 11,695 pieces.

The set includes a ton of details like a micro-scale replica of the First class grand staircase, dining saloon and engine room. You’d be able to see the details as the build is constructed in modules. So, when they’re separated, it allows the viewing of the cross sections at different points along the length of the ship.

The Lego Titanic also includes small details like the anchor, the life-boats, the British and American flags and the word “Titanic” written on the side of the boat. It even has that famous boat deck that you would recognise from the “king-of-the-world” scene in the movie. Additionally, the set comes with a buildable plaque with the letters “TITANIC” printed on individual 2×2 round tiles.

“Designing the Lego Titanic with such a focus on immense detail and scale, but also accuracy, has allowed us to create one of the most challenging building experiences to date.  We know brick builders and ship enthusiasts of all ages will love building the set and displaying it in their homes,” said Mike Psiaki, design master at the Lego Group.

The Lego Titanic set (10294) is available for pre-order from 1 November 2021. You’ll be able to pre-order the set through the Lego website, at the retail price of USD 629.99 (RM2,632.10).
