If you’ve gotten your COVID-19 vaccine jab outside of Malaysia, you can now apply for a digital vaccine certificate via MySejahtera. Previously, you’ll need to go to your nearest district health office but now the application can be done directly from your smartphone.
To apply for your digital vaccine certificate, just launch the MySejahtera app (Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery), and then go to the Helpdesk section. Click Start and then scroll down and select N. “I have received my vaccination overseas and would like to obtain my digital certificate in MySejahtera”.
Just fill up your details and select what type of vaccination records (1st dose, 2nd dose, or two doses) need to be updated. You are required to upload your proof of vaccination by attaching a picture of a vaccination card issued by the country where you get your COVID-19 vaccine jab. Once approved, your MySejahtera account will be updated with your digital certificate as well as your current vaccination status.
The Ministry of Health has recently announced that it is also issuing a vaccine exemption certificate on MySejahtera. For individuals who can’t get vaccinated against COVID-19 due to medical reasons, they can submit their pre-vaccination assessment slip at their nearest district health office. Once verified and processes, the exemption status will be displayed on their MySejahtera app.
