BMW Malaysia just introduced the “BMW iX Configurator for Special Personalisation”, a way to customise your iX’s exterior paintwork, interior upholstery, as well as add feature packages to the model. This is available for both the BMW iX xDrive40 and the BMW iX xDrive40 Sport.
On the Configurator page, you can view the technical data and find more information about the basic equipment included in the base model. You can then review the five available colours for the external paintwork: Alpine White Solid, Black Sapphire, Blue Ridge Mountain, Phytonic Blue, and Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect. Choosing the exterior colour will not add any additional cost.
You can also choose between four different interior upholsteries with varying colours: Atelier Mocha, Atelier Black, Suite Amido, and Suite Castanea. The Suite interiors will cost you an additional RM21,110 to add onto the base price. If you want a preview of what it might look like, BMW offers a 360 view of the interior on the website.
The BMW Iconic Package gets its namesake from the BMW IconicSounds Electric feature included in the bundle, which is meant to add the dynamic engine sound back into the electric vehicle experience. Co-created with Hans Zimmer, IconicSounds goes through the audio system and has three different modes: Personal, Efficient, and Sport. Also in the Iconic package, you get seatbelts in the BMW iBlue. To add this package to the xDrive40 or the xDrive40 Sport model, you will have to pay an extra RM3,020.
If you are planning to charge your iX at home, the Power Package would be a valuable addition. It includes the BMW i Wallbox (Generation 3, Type 2) and a BMW i public fast charging cable. The Wallbox can fully charge your iX in 7 hours and 15 minutes with 11kW of AC charging. This package is priced at RM4,600 and is available for both the xDrive40 and the xDrive40 Sport.
The Technology Package allows you to add features already on the xDrive40 Sport into the xDrive40. You can equip your vehicle with Driving Assistant Professional with Steering & Lane Control Assistant. It also adds Lane Keeping Assistant to keep you driving as safe as possible. Other features included are the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and the Parking Assistant Plus. If you want to add the Technology Package to your xDrive40, it will cost an additional RM15,700.
The Design Package is also exclusive to the BMW iX xDrive40, allowing you to get the BMW Individual Exterior Line Titanium Bronze detailing parts like the mirror base and door handles. It also adds the BMW Laserlights that are standard to the Sport variant. This package costs an additional RM15,740.
Lastly, if you want to make your xDrive40 look and feel more like the Sport model, you can get the Luxury Package. It includes the Panorama Glass Roof Sky Lounge, other crystal glass and wood elements, as well as the 18-Speaker Harman Kardon Surround Sound System. This package will cost you an additional RM33,490.
To customise the iX yourself, you can go to their website to play around with the Configurator and see what your ideal xDrive40 might look like.
