Samsung has announced that its new Galaxy Watch 4 series is now available in Malaysia starting today after it was made available for pre-order last month. These are Samsung’s latest smartwatches that run on Google’s Wear OS with One UI Watch skin.
Below is the official pricing for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in Malaysia:
According to Samsung Malaysia, all models are available nationwide from 22nd September 2021. You can buy it from authorised retailers and on eCommerce platforms such as Lazada and Shopee. At the moment, Samsung is only offering the Bluetooth version as the LTE variants are still not available.
In terms of colours, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is offered in either Black and Silver. For the sportier Galaxy Watch 4, the 40mm version comes in Pink Gold, Black and Silver, while the 44mm is offered in Green, Black and Silver.
Available in 40mm and 44mm sizes, the Galaxy Watch comes with a sleek and sporty design with a lightweight aluminium case. The 40mm size gets a 1.2″ AMOLED screen while the larger 44mm version features a 1.4″ AMOLED screen.
As you would expect from a smartwatch, it has an optical heart rate sensor that can measure your blood oxygen level. Samsung has also introduced a new Body Composition measurement tool that claims to provide a deeper understanding of your general health and fitness. The watch also supports ECG but it is still not activated in Malaysia at the moment.
The Galaxy Watch 4 has MIL-STD-810G certified durability and 5ATM-rated water resistance which allows it to be submerged up to 50 metres. On a single charge, it can last up to 40 hours and a quick 30-minute wireless charge (WPC standard) can provide up to 10 hours of usage.
Since it runs on Wear OS, you can get access to a variety of apps from the Google Play Store. Like its predecessor, there’s also NFC support which you can use for Samsung Pay.
The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic offers a more premium exterior as it features a stainless steel case and a rotating bezel. It retains the same 1.2″ and 1.4″ AMOLED displays as the standard model but the Classic is slightly wider due to its thicker bezels. Under the hood, it shares the same internals as the standard Galaxy Watch 4 which include a 5nm Exynos w920 dual-core chip, 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
