GoPro Hero 10 Black now official, retails at RM2,399

There’s a new GoPro in town, and Malaysian GoPro fans would be pleased to know that it’s coming to our shores. Introducing the GoPro Hero 10 Black.

The big highlight in the GoPro Hero 10 Black is the new GP2 processor, the successor to the GP1 chip that’s been in their cameras since the Hero 6 Black. With the GP2 chip underneath, it’s capable of shooting either 5.3K at 60fps, 4K at 120fps or 2.7K at 240fps. For comparison, the Hero 9 is only able to do 240fps footage at 1080p resolution. The GP2 enables the GoPro Hero 10 Black to do some incredibly smooth video stabilisation too.

You’ll also be able take 23MP still photos with the camera, or alternatively grab a 19.6MP frame from a video. Other familiar features like Hindsight, Schedule Capture, LiveBurst, TimeWarp 3.0 and Duration Capture are all also back on the GoPro Hero 10 Black. You can also have the HyperSmooth 4.0 function on while livestreaming via the GoPro Hero 10 Black directly onto YouTube, Twitch and other various platforms. Of course, you can also use it as a webcam via USB-C too.

Furthermore, you can add-on mods to the GoPro Hero 10 Black to make it fit your specific creative needs. You can add things like a Max Lens Mod for wide-angle shots, a display mod for a larger flip-up screen or even an extra mic on it. Speaking of mics, there’s a 3.5mm audio mic input and you can get a Pro 3.5 Mic Adapter too that’s sold separately.

Other features of note include a longer battery life despite having the same battery as the Hero 9 thanks to the more efficient GP2 chip. There’s also the ability to upload videos to the cloud even as it’s charging. It’s water resistant up to 33ft under water too. In the box with it you’ll get the camera, a rechargeble battery, mounting accessories, a USB-C cable and a case for your new GoPro.

The GoPro Hero 10 Black costs RM2,399 and will be made available in Malaysia sometime in late September. In the meantime, you can check out the GoPro Hero 10 Black’s product page on the GoPro website.
