Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G now available for pre-order in Malaysia

The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is coming to Malaysia very soon with stocks expected to arrive sometime next week. Essentially, this is a refresh of the current Galaxy A52 5G which runs on a newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G SoC.

According to retailer DirectD, the Galaxy A52s 5G with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is officially priced at RM1,899, which is the same price as the current Galaxy A52 5G. They are currently offering pre-orders for the device which comes bundled with a free Galaxy A52s Back Cover.

Besides the processor swap from a Snapdragon 750G to a 778G, the rest of the hardware remains unchanged. It still gets a 6.5″ Full HD+ AMOLED display that pushes a high refresh rate of 120Hz. For a better video and gaming experience, it also has stereo speakers enhanced with Dolby Atmos.

In the camera department, the A52s 5G features a quad-camera setup in the rear which consists of a 64MP main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, and two 5MP cameras for depth and macro effects. For selfies, the device has a 32MP front camera that sits in a centre-aligned punch-hole.

Similar to its predecessor, it has an on-screen fingerprint sensor and IP67-rated dust and water resistance. Powering the device is a large 4,500mAh battery that supports 25W fast-charging via USB-C but do note that you’re only getting a 15W power adapter in the box. According to DirectD’s pre-order page, the device is offered in Awesome White and Awesome Black.

In terms of specs, the A52s 5G is quite close to the Realme GT Master Edition which is priced from RM1,499. The device also features a 120Hz Full HD+ AMOLED display and a Snapdragon 778G 5G SoC but the battery is slightly smaller at 4,300mAh. However, the Realme device supports a higher 65W fast charging via USB-C.
