Rocks… they’re selling literal rocks on Shopee. And nearly 3,000 people have bought them

I’m not about to criticise anyone willing to purchase actual rocks on the internet—I have quite a large collection of crystals on my office desk. But almost 3,000 rocks have been sold by one particular rock seller on Shopee, which is pretty unbelievable.

I’m not that familiar with Batu Tungku “river rocks”, as advertised by seller matdi_jeli. But according to the description, the hefty rocks are “good for women who just gave birth and are need of relief”. The seller also warns that the rocks are “not light”.

The seller didn’t specify the size of the rocks that are sent to each person, but each rock is priced at RM5.90. According to the reviews, the rock sizes also vary from pretty big to just palm-sized—but it could be due to the size of a person’s hand.

“The stock module is probably RM0, and they grabbed the rocks from the back of their house. The seller has taken this opportunity to help people post pregnancy who live outside of the village. It’s quite difficult to get these rocks, plus with postage fees, RM5.90 isn’t so much if you get back traditional care,” wrote Santai Media.

With 2,900 rocks sold for RM5.90 each, the seller has already made RM17,110 from rocks alone. Several other sellers also followed suit—selling slightly cheaper rocks, to selling rocks with care packages (which is a great idea).

In May, McDonalds x BTS meal packaging was also seen on Shopee. And you could also get your portrait drawn for RM0.30—which, in my opinion, is worth every penny.
