Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 were made available in Malaysia on the 19th of August 2021. In just two days, it appears that the first batch of stocks that are expected to be delivered in September has been snapped up. According to Samsung Malaysia, all pre-orders made from 12am today, 21st of August will only be available for collection or delivery from 30th October onwards. It also added that early delivery might be possible subject to availability.

At the moment, it isn’t clear if the longer wait time is only limited to Samsung’s official online store. The foldable device is also sold through telcos, third-party retailers as well as eCommerce platforms. According to Lazada’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 256GB listing, the device is expected to arrive on 15th September, while the 512GB storage version is already sold out.

Hardware Specs

To recap, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is Samsung’s 3rd generation foldable device that can transform from a smartphone to a tablet. Some of the new features include S Pen support, an under-display camera on the main display as well as IPX8 water resistance.

Upfront, it gets a 6.2″ cover AMOLED display that does 832×2268 pixels resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. On the inside, it has a foldable 7.6″ screen that pushes 1768×2208 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with 12GB of RAM.

The device comes in two storage options with 256GB model going for RM6,699 while the 512GB storage option is priced at RM7,099.

In the photography department, the rear gets three 12MP cameras for wide, ultra-wide and telephoto. The Z Fold 3 has two selfie cameras with a 10MP shooter on the cover and a 4MP selfie camera on the inside. Powering the device is a 4,400mAh battery and it supports 25W fast-charging via USB-C. Take note that the device doesn’t come with a pair of headphones or a charger. Pre-order customers can get an RM850 eVoucher while stocks last and it can be used to buy original Samsung accessories on their online store.
