Dear 80s kid: the Nerf blaster of your dreams is here

Hasbro announces one of the coolest Nerf guns that you possibly own—made to look like the iconic M41-A Pulse Rifle from the movie Aliens. Pre-orders are already open for those in the U.S. and Canada, if you want to channel your inner Ellen Ripley.

“Celebrate the 35th anniversary of the iconic Aliens film with the NERF LMTD ALIENS M41-A Pulse Blaster, capturing authentic details inspired by the equipment of the film’s Colonial Marine Corps,” wrote Hasbro.

The Nerf gun has the same size and shape of the M41-A Pulse Blaster in the movie, complete with a “Power Loader inspired design and dual-blasting action”. But it has some of the same yellow and orange colour scheme as your regular Nerf.

It features an electronic dart counter and “movie-accurate” blasting sounds. The gun also measures about 28 inches long, and includes 10 Elite darts and 3 Mega darts.

Like the gun in Aliens, there’s a genuine digital ammo counter on the side which actually counts the Elite darts—even if you hold the trigger down. As for where to fire the Mega darts, there’s an under-barrel grenade launcher with a spring-loaded plunger tube connected to a secondary trigger you can pull—which you can use to fire one Mega dart at a time.

Nerf fans have previously been trying to replicate the Pulse Blaster by replicating its features and functionality. A fan 3D printed pieces for a Nerf blaster into a full-scale prop. But now, you could own the gun from Aliens without needing to 3D print or build anything.

You can pre-order the NERF LMTD ALIENS M41-A Pulse Blaster for USD 94.99 (RM402.62), but only if you live in the U.S. or Canada for now. There’s no information yet of when it will be available elsewhere.
