Beats Studio Buds is finally coming to Malaysia, pre-order starts on 18th August

Machines, Malaysia’s largest Apple Premium Reseller, announced that the Beats Studio Buds are coming to Malaysia very soon. The pre-order starts on 18th August 2021 at 7:00am local time and they will be going for an offer price of RM599, as opposed to the usual price of RM629. The official release date will be August 25th.

Beats Studio Buds are the latest True Wireless Earbuds from Beats, offering ANC, sweat resistance, and a 24-hour battery life including the case. Announced back in June of this year, the Studio Buds was not released to Malaysia at the time, but now it will be available to authorised retailers in the country.

Comparable to the AirPods Pro (RM1,099) especially when they’re both under Apple, the Beats Studio Buds seem to have similar specifications and functionality, but is missing wireless charging and AirPods Pro’s H1 chip that allows for automatic cross-device switching.

Let’s dive into some specifications and details about the Beats Studio Buds. The design fits the classic Beats aesthetic, with rounded shapes and bold colours. They come in white, black, and red, which covers both the case and the buds themselves.

With an in-ear design, the Studio Buds come with three different replaceable tips in varying sizes. The buds quite light at just 5.1g per side.

The Beats Studio Buds support active noise cancellation (ANC), transparency mode, and even spatial audio for Dolby Atmos files. You can switch between the different noise cancellation modes by long-pressing the “b” button on the back of the bud.

With ANC turned on, you can get 5 hours of listening with a single charge and up to a total of 15 hours of you include the battery case. With ANC off, a single charge can get you 8 hours of listening and extra charges with the case will bring that number up to 24 hours. It does not have wireless charging, but can get 1 hour of playback from just 5 minutes of charging via USB-C.

If you don’t feel like using the button on the earbuds, you can use “Hey Siri” voice commands for a hands-free experience. The Studio Buds are actually compatible with both iOS and Android, and you get access features using the Beats Android app. Being IPX4-rated, it can tolerate the usual sweat and occasional splashes.

Although it has a market price of RM629, you can get Beats Studio Buds at Machines for RM599 on August 25th, or you can pre-order it starting tomorrow at 7:00am. To do so, go to their website and you can choose between a full payment or a deposit on the preorder. The deposit is RM100, and the product will be available between 2-4 weeks after order is confirmed. It will also be available on Shopee.

There is a promotion to save RM30 if you pay with Atome with promo code ‘ATOMEBEATS30’, or save RM50 if you pay with PayLater with promo code ‘PAYLATERBEATS50’. Authorised retailer Switch is also offering RM30 rebate for the Studio Buds on their Shopee and Lazada Stores. Terms and conditions apply.
