Twitter introduces an in-demand feature for Spaces, which lets three users co-host

Twitter has been ramping up on their Spaces feature, recently with introducing the ability for hosts to easily send a tweet with the link to their Spaces in progress. But now they have also introduced another feature that a few netizens have been asking for—the ability for up to three users to co-host a Spaces conversation.

Starting this week, hosts are able to invite two other co-hosts to moderate a Spaces conversation. A Spaces will also be able to feature up to 13 people, including 1 host, 2 co-hosts, and 10 participants.

Adding a co-host is done through an invite system that allows a host to search for specific users. Co-hosts can do a variety of things, like invite speakers, manage requests, remove participants, and pin tweets. However, co-hosts won’t be able to remove the original host, nor can they end a broadcast.

The co-host feature is something I’ve noticed a few users on Twitter ask for when Twitter announced a separate feature last week. It’s a feature that has already been a thing on Twitter Spaces’ rival Clubhouse.

Twitter Spaces is a fairly new feature, and not as many users are fully embracing it—partly because you’d need at least 600 followers on the app to start hosting. So, it’s no surprise that they’re working on adding and improving the feature to fully compete with Clubhouse, as they encourage users to give them feedback.

Spaces’ update last week lets hosts easily send a tweet showing the link to their Spaces in progress, along with a couple other new updates. You were already able to share a link to your Spaces before, but it previously required a few extra taps.
