You might have been playing games on your phone a lot more these days, especially as we’re spending more time cooped up at home. Well if you want to make the full transition into mobile gaming, the Asus ROG Phone 5 Ultimate is perhaps the most pimped out phone out there, and Malaysians can soon pre-order it for RM4,999.
The highest end model of Asus’s ROG Phone 5 lineup, it comes with quite a big bump of specs and features over the rest of the lineup. It still has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 of course, but it gets paired with a massive 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of storage for all the games you’ll ever need. And while there’s Android 11 installed, its comes in the form of Asus’ ROG UI with all of its gamer aesthetics.
The ROG Phone 5 Ultimate has a 6.78-inch FHD OLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz. It also has a tiny OLED screen on the back dubbed the ROG Vision, which you can use to display anything you’d like. You’ll also find extra pressure sensitive zones which function as extra trigger buttons for gaming on the rear, kind of like the L2/R2 triggers on your game controller.
Camera-wise, it packs a triple camera setup with a 64MP main sensor flanked by a 13MP ultrawide and a 5MP macro lens. While the cameras might not have been this phone’s focus, it’s still capable of shooting up to 8K footage at 30fps. Its front camera meanwhile is a 24MP sensor.
Other features of note include a 6,000mAh battery with 65W fast charge and two charging ports on its bottom and side so that you can have it plugged in while gaming. It also has 10W reverse charging if you want to use it as an impromptu powerbank. You’ll find DTS:X stereo speakers on the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate, a 3.5mm audio jack and a snap-on fan cooler in the box which doesn’t come with the base model ROG Phone 5. Being a special ‘Ultimate’ device, it gets its own special Matte White colourway.
If you’re interested, you’ll want to mark your calendars as it’ll be available for pre-orders starting from the 8th of August till the 21st of August from the official Asus store on Lazada, Shopee as well as their own website. You’ll get a complimentary Ultimate Fan Gift Box Collection and a pair of ROG Strix Go Core headphones too when you pre-order, worth a total of RM1,099.
