OnePlus has had a big week, unveiling their Nord 2 5G and now showing off their first flagship wireless earbuds. The OnePlus Buds Pro will be an upgrade of their current OnePlus Buds, now with some notable upgrades.
The OnePlus Buds Pro will have smart adaptive noise cancelling (ANC) powered by three internal microphones on each earbud that cancel up to 40dB reduction of background noise.
There are three noise cancelling modes: Faint, Smart, and Extreme. They range from 15dB to 40dB of noise cancellation, and the Smart mode will adapt to the surroundings.
With ANC on, you get 5 hours of playback from the buds themselves, which is slightly more than the AirPods Pro’s 4.5 hours of playback.
Without ANC on however, the Buds Pro deliver with 7 hours of playback on the buds themselves. If you combine this with the battery from the charging case, you get a total of 38 hours of battery life, compared to the 30 hours battery life that the OnePlus Buds have.
It also supports Warp Charge, OnePlus’ fast charging feature that allows users to get 10 hours of battery life with just a 10-minute 10W wired charge.
The OnePlus Buds Pro will have their Audio ID feature which will allow you to create a unique hearing profile suited to your ears specifically. This will create a more flat and accurate response from the earbuds.
OnePlus gives you two options for colours: Matte Black and Glossy White. The design is simple and sleek, with a chrome stalk that compliments the basic colours available. With a rounded shape, the buds are fitted with rubber tips that fit into the ears and help with noise reduction.
The Buds Pro come with 11mm drivers and Dolby Atmos support. With Bluetooth 5.2 pairing, you can expect around 94ms of latency.
They can charge either via USB-C or a compatible Qi (2W) wireless charger. The Buds Pro are also IP55 water and dust resistant, although liquid damage is not covered in the warranty.
In Europe, the OnePlus Buds Pro are retailing for €150 (about RM748) from August 25, while North Americans have to wait until September 1 to buy it. Pricing and availability for Malaysia has not been revealed yet.
