COVID-19: 107 deaths and 6,658 cases reported today, 3,047 new cases reported in Selangor

Malaysia has recorded 6,658 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 772,607. There are 107 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 5,434.

The Ministry of Health has reported 5,677 new recoveries and a total of 700,215 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 90.63% while the mortality rate is at 0.70%.

There are currently 66,958 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 892 are in ICU while 443 require respiratory support.

Out of the 6,658 new cases today, 11 are imported while 6,647 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 3,047 cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan with 699 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 616 cases and Johor with 414 cases.

There are 19 new clusters identified today and 16 are workplace-related. Below is the breakdown of new clusters by states:
