Huawei MateView and MateView GT launching in Malaysia on 6 July

A short while back Huawei debuted their first two flagship level monitors, the Huawei MateView and MateView GT. For those who’ve been keeping an eye on these displays, Huawei Malaysia will be launching them on our shores this 6th of July.

In case you missed it, the Huawei MateView is the Chinese company’s first flagship 4K UHD monitor. It has a 28.2-inch, 3:2 display with a 94% screen-to-body ratio, and has HDR400 certification too. Targeting professionals, it covers the full sRGB range as well as 98% of the DCI-P3 gamut. Meanwhile, design-wise it’s a sleek minimalist monitor, with Huawei giving it a geometric design and a magnetic back panel. Its height-adjustable mount also lets you adjust the height and tilt to your liking.

Furthermore, users can also use OneHop Projection via their smartphones to project their device into Desktop Mode for more productivity. And you can plug your peripherals like keyboard and mouse directly to the 2x USB-C and 2x USB-A ports on the monitor, letting you swap between multiple connected devices without moving your peripherals around too. The MateView also has a further 1x HDMI, 1x Mini DisplayPort and 1x 3.5mm audio port.

As for the MateView GT, this is Huawei’s attempt at an ultrawide gaming monitor. It features a 34-inch, 21:9 1440p display with a refresh rate of 165Hz and a 4000:1 contrast ratio. Huawei have added some gaming-centric features to it, such as the Dark Field Control that adjusts the brightness of the display automatically to help you spot others in game easily. You can also enable the Crosshairs feature that adds a reticle to the middle of your screen.

Being a gaming monitor, it of course needs some RGB lighting, and you’ll find it on the integrated soundbar at the bottom of the MateView GT. This soundbar also comes with 2.0 surround sound. As for ports, the MateView GT has 2x HDMI 2.0 ports, 1x DisplayPort, 1x full USB Type-C, 1x USB Type-C for charging and a 3.5mm audio jack.

While the local pricing of the two monitors will only be announced at the launch, we already know the international prices for them—the MateView starts at RMB 3999 (~RM 2,570.26) while the MateView GT is priced at RMB 3599 (~RM 2,312.24).

To check out the launch of the monitors here, you can tune in to Huawei Malaysia’s Facebook page at 7pm this 6th of July.
