COVID-19: 6,276 new cases and 62 deaths today, 24% of total cases are recorded in June alone

Malaysia has recorded 6,276 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 751,979. There are 62 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 5,170. For this month alone, there are a total of 179,622 cases and 2,374 deaths recorded. That’s an average of 5,987 cases and 79 deaths per day.

The Ministry of Health has reported 4,929 new recoveries and a total of 682,680 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 90.78% while the mortality rate is now 0.69%.

There are currently 64,129 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 905 are in ICU while 452 require respiratory support.

Out of the 6,276 new cases today, 16 are imported while 6,260 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 2,836 cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan with 644 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 625 cases and Sarawak with 376 cases.
