I sure would love for Malaysia, and the many other countries excluded in Apple’s new Watch band collection, to be included someday. But alas, Apple has announced that 22 countries have their own “limited-edition Sport Loop bands with colourful designs” in time for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.
There are 22 Watch bands designs that represent a National Olympic Committee (NOC)—including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and the US. And besides Malaysia, 183 out of a total of 206 NOCs don’t get their own bands either.
The bands are Sports Loops—which have a double-layer nylon weave and a hook-and-loop fastener. According to Apple, these limited-edition bands are designed to “celebrate the describable drive and competitive spirit of all athletes and fans”.

The limited edition ‘International Collection’ Sport Loop Watch bands are available now in 40mm or 44mm. The price is RM199 each.
If you really want to get something as close to Malaysia as possible to get you pumped up during the Tokyo Olympics, you’d be safe getting the Bands from either the United States, Great Britain, or Russia as their colour schemes are kind of similar. All they’re really missing is yellow—but you could probably experiment with your Watch faces for that.
Speaking of Watch faces, the ones for the ‘International Collection’ will be available to download soon for all users. But you’ll need the Apple Watch Series 4 or later.
Previously in 2016, Apple had sold a set of Apple Watch bands representing the flags of 14 different NOCs. However, they were only available to buy in Brazil as the Olympics were held there.
