Lenovo’s new Yoga Tab 13 is a tablet that doubles as a secondary monitor

Lenovo turned up at the 2021 Mobile World Congress with an absolute head-turner of a device: the Lenovo Yoga Tab 13, their most powerful tablet yet that can also become a monitor thanks to a micro-HDMI port.

Specs

Lenovo has billed the Yoga Tab 13 as their most powerful tablet ever, and it’s not hard to see why. Packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 system-on-chip with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, you can also have either 128GB or 256GB of storage with it. Battery-wise it comes with a 10,000mAh battery, allowing for up to 12 hours of FHD content playback. You will also find Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and 30W quick charge on the tablet.

Furthermore, the 13-inch, 2160 x 1350 display is supported by a quad-JBL speaker setup with Dolby Atmos to boot. It also has 3 microphones and a 5cc audio chamber, offering perhaps some of the best audiovisual experience that you can get from a tablet. The kickstand on the back of the tablet also allows you to not only have it standing upright, but you can even hang it off anything like a door hook.

And incredibly, you can even use it as a portable secondary monitor for your laptop or even your desktop if you’d like. This is thanks to Lenovo putting a micro-HDMI port on the device, meaning it can be used as a display with a micro-HDMI to USB cable instead of finnicky third-party apps. Alternatively, you could cast your screen onto another display using Miracast.

The Yoga Tab 13 is also the first tablet to feature Entertainment Space from Google, a hub for all the popular free and paid services such as YouTube, Twitch, popular games, Google Play Books and more. All of these specs and features fit into a 830g Shadow Black stainless steel body with an Alcantara backing. The Lenovo Precision Pen 2 stylus is also an optional accessory.

Pricing and availability

The Yoga Tab 13 has been listed a June worldwide launch, although its local price and availability has yet to be confirmed by Lenovo. What we do know though is that it will be available starting at €799, which is approximately ~RM 3,954.62.
