Malaysia has recorded 4,743 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 705,762. There are 77 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 4,554. A total of 1,758 deaths were recorded in June which is an average of 80 per day.
The Ministry of Health has reported 5,557 new recoveries and a total of 639,181 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 90.57% while the mortality rate is now 0.64%.
There are currently 62,027 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 875 are in ICU while 445 require respiratory support.
Out of the 4,743 new cases today, 2 are imported while 4,741 are transmitted locally. Selangor records the most today with 1,566 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 635 cases, Negeri Sembilan with 585 cases and Sarawak with 507 cases.
