Malaysia has recorded 4,949 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 662,457. There are 60 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 3,968.
The Ministry of Health has reported 6,588 new recoveries and a total of 586,864 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 88.59% while the mortality rate is at 0.60%.
There are currently 71,625 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 921 are in ICU while 459 require respiratory support.
Out of the 4,949 new cases today, 6 are imported while 4,943 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,523 cases, followed by Sarawak with 744 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 503 cases and Johor with 430 cases.
